SpamExperts provides you with the option to create internal SpamExpert accounts for each of your email addresses, granting your email users the freedom to manage their own spam filtering. With this feature, the hosting account owner no longer needs to constantly monitor and edit the spam filter, allowing for more efficient management of your email system.

Instructions

1. Login to your Conetix account
   
2. Click Services:
   
3. Click “Manage Product” next to “Professional SpamFilter – Inbound”:
   
4. Click “Log In To Panel”:
   
5. Scroll down to the bottom of the left-side menu and under Users & Permissions, click the Manage email users tab.
   
6. Click Add to create a new user.
   
7. Enter the preferred username.
   
8. Create a password, then enter it again to confirm. The password must contain:
   • At least six characters
   • At least one uppercase letter or digit
   • At least one lowercase letter
   • No spaces
9. Click the Save button.
10. Repeat these steps for each email user you would like to create.

You have now created a User in Spam Experts to log in Click here!

From time to time customers using our Spam Experts filtering service as a stand alone product may need to update the destination that the spam filter delivers to. This guide will step you through replacing the existing configured destination.

Instructions

1. Login to your Conetix Control Panel:
   
2. Click Services:
   
3. Find your Professional SpamFilter – Inbound product and click Manage Product:
   
4. In the new window select Manage Routes:
   
5. Under Add a route enter your new destination’s Hostname and Port:
   
6. Click Add:
   
7. To remove your previous destionation, click the Delete button in the Action column next to the old destionation:
   
8. When prompted to confirm deletion, click OK:
   

Your new destionation is now active!

In order for your mail to be filtered via Conetix Local SpamExperts system you need to modify your DNS records to our SpamExperts AntiSpam platform.

The following details are the MX records required to replace your existing MX record or records.

Prerequisite

You must have a stand alone SpamExperts subscription or web hosting subscription that has SpamExperts included in plan with Conetix.

Add the following MX records to your DNS.

Customers using the Conetix SpamExperts service with externally hosted email should ensure that their email host or email server has the Conetix SpamExperts IP range allow listed to ensure there are no delays, rejections and false positive spam message detection on the destination email server.

If your email host includes spam filtering our recommendation is to use your email hosts email filtering. However if you’d like to use our filtering service instead it’s highly recommend you disable the filter on your email host’s side.

Please note that having multiple spam filters active on a domain can result in email flow problems.

No spam filtering system is 100% accurate at detecting if a message is spam which can result in an email detected incorrectly.

You may find that a client has alerted you to this by calling to ask about an email you haven’t replied to. In this article we’ll guide you through setting up a daily email report showing the last 24 hours of quarantined messages.

Instructions

1. Access the SpamExperts system via your current subscription; which is either a stand alone product or via one of our web hosting subscriptions.
   
2. Once logged into SpamExperts Select Logs under Incoming:
   
3. Set the Timestamp to the previous 24 hours:
   
4. Add a new rule by clicking the New Rule button:
   
5. In the new drop down box, select Status:
   
6. Click the right hand field and select “Quarantined”:
   
7. Click the Show Results button to run the search:
   
8. Now click Email this search button above the Query Rules area:
   
9. Enter a Subject for the report such as “Quarantined Emails”:
   
10. Click the Delivery drop down and select Weekdays at 09:00:
    
11. Set Sender to noreply@conetix.com.au:
    
12. For Recipient enter your email address:
    
13. Select row(en_US) for the Template Name:
    
14. When ready, select the ‘Schedule’ button:

This article shows you how to access Spam Experts via your Control Panel for the purpose of forwarding quarantined messages. Conetix uses Spam Experts to filter 99% of viruses and spam. Occasionally, you may need to login to the Spam Experts control panel to review false positives or review the reason for an email rejection.

Instructions

1. Log into your SpamExperts panel either via the Standalone Product, or via Plesk (depending on your setup).
2. Click on Spam Quarantine to view all emails currently in the filter’s quarantine.
   This shows a running list of each quarantined email from the last 30 days.
   
3. All quarantined emails will be automatically listed for you, however you may also use the Query Rules to look for certain emails by clicking the New Rule button to set a search rule, then clicking the Search button to update the list.
   
4. If you’d like to check the specifics on why an email was quarantined, tick the following boxes under “Columns to be displayed“, then click the Search button again;
   
   • Main Class
   • Sub Class
   • Extra Class
   • Error Class
     
5. If an email is incorrectly marked as quarantined you can release it by clicking the drop down arrow next to the email, then click Release from quarantine:
